Referees Kit
Referee mentoring and opportunity to upgrade to 4R (and beyond) at SW Championships in Plymouth, 12th/13th May.
Andrew Potter and Richard Morten are running a referee clinic over the weekend.

At the beginning of the tournament they will discuss the competition and answer any questions you may have. During the games, they will be available to observe or mentor you in your capacity as an official and track progression over the weekend of all willing referees, offering opportunities based on this and your abilities to officiate the Semi Finals and Finals.

If you are a Grade 4 referee, they are happy to observe and recommend you for upgrading providing you have a good understanding of the rules and can control the game. They would preferably need to see you 1st AND 2nd referee in matches. (Please note, if you are not registered as a referee for the 2011/12 season, they can still observe you and recommend you for upgrading but it will not take effect until you next register).

News

Hello everyone,

I have been volunteered into the job of Referee administration.

My first act was to revamp this section of the EDVA website, which will hopefully make it easier to read and find what you are looking for, like a one-stop place for all things EDVA refereeing. Referee specific documents are now held here, but the old links remain to prevent confusion. Content has not altered that much, but I have added Volleyball England's Code of Conduct and a link to their referee pages on their website. I have also added a generic rotation slip template, as well as a downloadable pdf of sheets of the referee's logbook

This is just the start - my job description is not sorted, but hopefully we can get many of the new referee's refereeing, and to improve standards not only within the EDVA, but further afield.

If you are a new referee, may I suggest that you read the supplemental EDVA rules in this section, because there are lots of EDVA specific rules that you may not be aware of, even if you have been playing (and/or refereeing) in the league for some time.

I strongly advise you to register with Volleyball England, especially if you enjoy refereeing and want to move up the ladder.

Any suggestions for the website or about refereeing in in EDVA, please contact me at refsupport@volleyballtaunton.org.uk
